- Hi All,
-
- I have a serious problem with my US Robotics Courier V.Everything modem.
-
- A while back (couple of months ago) I applied an SDL to upgrade my Australian
- USR V.Everything. It performed the upgrade OK, or so it said; however
- I began to experience strange problems such as unable to detect busy signals
- and difficulty communication with other 28.8k modems (after about 15 minutes
- it would disconnect). These problems did not occur with the modem prior
- to performing this upgrade.
-
- Upon further investigation I discovered via the ATI7 command that the modem
- now said it was the US/Canada external version. I can only presume that
- the SDL I downloaded somehow changed the country code of the modem and then
- applied the latest US release of the SDL code.
-
- I urgently need to change the country code of my modem back to Australia so
- that I can apply the latest Australian SDL and re-detect Australian busy
- signals. At the moment I can't enable busy detection because it thinks a
- normal line ring is a busy signal (pretty useless for redialling).
-
- A while back someone e-mailed me on how to change the modem detection in
- the SDL; unfortunately I've lost that message and can't remember what to do
- to make this change.
-
- I'd appreciate any help I can get on this. I would prefer to tell the
- modem its Australian and then re-apply the Australian SDL; however
- any fix would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Any anyone can help can they please e-mail me.
-
- Many Thanks..
-
